AOD250 Acer Netbook Computer - Is This the Right Mini Notebook For You?

The AOD250 netbook is put out by Acer. Acer didn't actually start the netbook craze (that honor belongs to the Asus eee line), but they have quickly surpassed competitors to become the maker of the hottest selling netbooks. The reasons for this are simple -- they have a quality product at a price that is lower than that of the competition. But does the specific AOD250 model live up to expectations?

This is definitely not the most powerful netbook on the market. At the same time, it comes in at such a low price that many are willing to overlook the lack of certain features because it is definitely a usable and speedy little machine. It has an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1 GB of memory, and a 160 GB hard drive. Note that there are netbooks out there that are faster and contain more memory storage; but they will cost you quite a bit more. The good thing about the AOD 250 is that you can easily upgrade the memory to 2 GB. It is relatively inexpensive to do so as well.

The display on this mini computer is around 10 inches. It has an LCD display, with surprisingly excellent graphics. Acer uses something called CrystalBright technology in order to make everything appear crisp and clear, even on a smaller screen. The screen size is comparable to the best netbooks on the market, and it is just the right size for being ultra portable, while still allowing you to see everything you need to see without strain.

There are some great features that come along with this Acer Aspire One netbook. It has WebCam built right in, and comes installed with Skype. You will also easily be able to create videos that you can upload YouTube with this computer. Since so many people use these for Internet browsing activities, you'll love knowing that it is compatible with these things. It also has a wireless antenna built right, so you can connect to the Internet wherever there is a connection available.

There are similar options out there, but this is the model with the most competitive price. It has more than enough power for many people who will use this as a second computer, or just need something light to carry around. Reviewers recommend this system because it is so reliable, and is definitely a great addition to the world of netbook computers. With its small portable size, long battery life, and processing power, it will more than meet most people's needs.

Knowing Your Audio Receiver Feature by Feature

An audio receiver has the basic function of processing and amplifying sound signals. In doing so, it enhances a home theatre system. Back then, they were called stereo receivers and consisted only of a tuner, pre-amplifier and power amplifier. As years went by, the stereo receiver underwent many developments as to function and features, and is now known as an audio receiver, but this term usually means an audio video receiver (AV) which is capable of processing both audio and video signals.

The audio receiver of today boasts of a number of features.

Access to Radio Stations

Most home theater receivers have a tuner for both AM and FM frequencies built into their system. Some of the latest models even have satellite radio tuners. This makes use of an external antenna to access particular frequencies, and sometimes a subscription to satellite radio stations would be necessary to avail of this feature. Some receivers come with high-density radio tuners, while others yet are capable of streaming audio and video files through a computer through an Ethernet, or access radio stations peculiar to the Internet.

Built-in Decoders

An audio receiver provides decoders of different types. There are the decoders that cater to audio data from multiple channels. The pioneer decoder format for movie formats was Dolby Pro Logic, that integrated surround and center channels into left and right channels through the process of matrixing. The separation into these formats was enabled by receivers that had the Dolby Pro Logic format.

Upon the introduction of DVD, the Dolby digital format was introduced. It became so popular that it became the standard format, which means that until now, most receivers have a decoder for this format. They also come with various inputs and amplifiers that can support the additional DVD channels. New models have an S/PDIF input that you can hook up to a source to get the Dolby Digital output.

New AV receivers also have a DTS sound decoder. This is because DTS and the Dolby group introduced the rear center surround channel, and the AV receivers in turn, accommodated these new developments by integrating decoders in their systems. One way to tell if the audio receiver has technologies for both is if it has six amplifiers.

The good thing about the audio receiver market is that they continually undergo developments each time a new player becomes popular. They are then equipped with the appropriate decoders for them.

Digital Signal Processors

DSP stands for digital signal processor, which is responsible for balance and equalization of sound in a receiver, as well as audio effects. There is no more need to transfer to a specific location to achieve the acoustics of a particular recorded sound. Field simulations featured in a DSP make it possible for the user to choose and control his type of sound through echo and surround sound.

Amplification Channels

An audio receiver would typically have more than two amplification channels. The standard is five.

Audiovisual Connectors

Digital or analog audio, component, composite, SCART or S-video, and HDMI are all different options for an audio receiver's connector.

These are the basic features of an audio receiver. More advanced AV receivers may include upscaling and conversion options, on top of the necessary ones.

Buy Cheap Panasonic Cameras Online

Look around you. People are looking for cheap cameras. It's normal to be practical and frugal nowadays, especially during times like these. If you are one of the people who are looking for cheap Panasonic cameras, you are not alone. There are other people there who are opting to go to the Scrooge side. They make sure that they get the quality that they deserve even if they get this for a cheaper rate.

But one thing one should ask before finally deciding which cheap Panasonic camera to get is whether one is getting the digital or film. There is also the question of what is cheap. For some people, what is cheap may not be cheap to others. Then there is also the range. You may have seen a cheap Panasonic camera in one store or one site, then you go to another store or another site and realize that it is cheaper if you get that particular model there.

Another consideration is the size of the cheap Panasonic camera that you are getting. The price of any camera, be it purchased online or in a store is affected by the size. Sometimes, the bigger the camera, the more expensive it is. This is why film cameras are more expensive than digital cameras because of the bulk and the size - especially when these are use for photography purposes. That is why photography is said to be a very expensive hobby.

If one is just looking for a cheap Panasonic camera that will be used for documentation purposes, then he can go for the model that he feels will provide him with what he needs and is looking for. But it is still recommended that he compares the prices, features, and reviews of one model from the rest. He shouldn't be too excited when shopping for cheap Panasonic camera.

Just because it is the first model he sees that meets his standards and is within his budget, he should get it immediately. He should still see what is out there before making a decision. Now when he does this, it means that he made a sound decision. A factor most photographers ask when looking for cheap digital SLR cameras is the resolution. If they feel that the model that they are interested already meet the resolution that they are looking for, then they go for this option.

If they believe that this will already give them the features that they need when they are using it, it wouldn't matter if they have a cheap Panasonic camera because they know that they eventually got their money's worth - and that's what's important.

Is the Acer Aspire One Mini Notebook PC the Happy Medium?

I guess I would have to say that I'm probably one of the last people to jump on the mini notebook PC (or netbook) bandwagon. I've got to tell you when I first looked at one of these things I couldn't figure out what the attraction was. I thought to myself "This is just a sorta kinda notebook or laptop wannabe. Why not just go out and get the real McCoy?" Then I had a chance to use an Acer Aspire One. I changed my mind in a big hurry.

The compact design of the Acer Aspire One is really pretty nice. You don't realize how large a full size notebook really is until you compare it to carting around one of these pint size PCs. You're almost getting "the real McCoy" in size. I mean what the heck; a 10 inch LED backlit screen is nothing to sneeze at. However, even though you're giving up loads in performance (This is not anything close to a high end gaming computer), believe it or not, the size is a huge advantage. Not because how small it is but because of how big it is. Let me explain.

I used to think that I had a mini notebook PC in my pocket. You know, those things we call smart phones. I figured that if I wanted to do some minor or recreational web browsing or check or send emails that that's all I needed. Well, it is if you can effectively see everything you want to see on that tiny screen. It's getting harder for me to do that. I'm at that age where my glasses seem to be getting stronger from year to year exponentially.

This is where the Acer Aspire One excels. Is it a full blown laptop? No it isn't. But it's not just an eBook reader either. With it's 1.6 GHz processor, long battery life, sufficient RAM, WiFi, a 250 gigabyte hard drive and little perks like a webcam and Dolby audio, The Acer aspire makes a perfect travel PC. Want to get a little work done too? It comes with Microsoft Office.

Samsung LCD TV Vs Panasonic Plasma TV

When it comes to LCD TVs, Samsung currently produce arguably the best and most popular LCD TV models in the market. Panasonic on the other hand, holds the reign when it comes to Plasma TVs. To put it simply, if you are torn between buying a LCD and Plasma HDTV, you will have to choose between and Samsung and Panasonic model. Here is a quick guide to help you make your decision.

Viewing Angle: Both Samsung LCD and Panasonic Plasma TVs have similar viewing angles. Plasma TV's viewing angle can be as wide as 178 degrees, while LCD TV's are up to 175 degrees. Although both types of TVs have similar viewing angles, the images of Plasma TVs do not suffer from any degradation of quality even when viewed from odd angles. LCDs on the other hand, are best viewed from the front for the best visuals.

Refresh Rates: Traditionally, Plasma TVs have lighting speed refresher rates, similar to the rates of CRT televisions. LCDs on the other hand have much slower refresher rates, but recent technological advancements have greatly improved the refresher rates of LCD TVs. Some high-end (and expensive) LCD TV models today have refresher rates of 5ms.

Burn In: Plasma TVs are not well suited for the display of static images. After prolonged use of displaying static videos, they are prone to burn-in effects, where it will leave behind permanent video 'residues' on the screen, very much like a permanent shadow on the screen. Newer models today have significantly curbed this problem. LCDs on the other hand, are prone to a similar problem called "retained pixel charge" where a pixel (or a groups of pixels) remains discolored. Fortunately, this problem is fixable.

Life Span: Most LCD models today last between thirty thousand and sixty thousand hours. Plasma TVs take around the same amount of time to reach 'half life' (where the display fades to more than half of its brightness). Recently, Panasonic has announced that its Plasma TVs can last up to 100'000 hours.

Durability: Plasma TVs are generally heavier and a little thicker than LCD TVs. Due to its weight; it is best to leave the installation process to the experts, especially if you plan to mount your Plasma on the wall. Plasmas are also more fragile, so extra care should be taken when transporting them.

Image Quality: It is undisputed that Plasma TVs produced clearer and sharper images. This is due to this high contrasts ratio that is unrivalled by even the most expensive LCD model. The blacks are deeper and the visuals are more brilliant on a Plasma TV. On the other hand, the screen of LCD display reflects very little light, producing a better viewing experience in a brightly lighted room.

5 Brands You Can Trust When Buying an HDTV

There's a dizzying array of new TVs out there. So who makes the best TVs? Having looked at the performance of various HDTV-builders over the past six months, here's a list of the companies that you can trust when buying a new television.

5. Panasonic
Panasonic one of the leading lights in the TV business, but the competition at the top is getting tougher all the time. Nevertheless, Panasonic's reputation for producing classy, big-screen HDTVs remains intact - the TH-42PZ85 and TH-50PZ81 Viera models are two of its best.

Of course, Panasonic could rest on its laurels. Its Viera models are already praised for their picture quality, buffed up by its V-real 3 Pro and Intelligent Frame Creation technologies. But if the Z1 neo-PDP HDTV shown at CES is any indication, Panasonic's plasmas are only going to get better.

4. Sony
Like a Stella Artois, the average Sony Bravia is reassuringly expensive. In the current generation, HDTVs like the Sony Bravia KDL-32V4000, KDL-37V4000 and whopping great KDL-55X4500 have garnered rave reviews. And Sony isn't about to stop pushing the technology envelope.

Sony was the first TV manufacturer to introduce 200Hz processing and it's already leading the charge into commercial OLED displays with the pricey 11-inch XEL-1 TV. Sony recently announced its 2009 Bravia line-up, which includes Bravia Engine 3 picture processing, DLNA-friendly media streaming and Internet connectivity.

3. Samsung
Samsung is the UK's biggest-selling TV manufacturer. Its HDTVs like the LE40LB651 and LE46A786 are competitively priced, well-specified and smartly-designed with a 'Touch of Colour'.

What does the future hold? Samsung has invested heavily in LED technology and it plans to follow Sony into commercialising OLED. Like other manufacturers, it also hopes that new, slimmer designs, 200Hz refresh rates and its Internet@TV feature (I.e. Internet widgets) will tempt buyers into TV upgrades.

2. Philips
Philips might sell fewer HDTVs than Samsung, but it maintains an enviable commitment to quality. The 32PFL9613D and 42PFL9903D models might be pricey, but they're beautifully-designed, boasting 100Hz picture processing and Perfect Pixel HD for fantastically sharp, detailed images.

You could argue that Philips is too 'experimental' for its own good. Ambilight is an interesting feature, but Philips took it too far with the distracting lightframe surround on its Aurea models. In terms of innovation, it will be interesting to see where Philips gets to with its 3DTV technology - its prototype autostereoscopic sets can display 3D images without forcing the viewer to wear 3D glasses.

1. Pioneer
It should come as no surprise that Pioneer grabs the top spot in this list. You'll be hard-pressed to find a bad review of high-end plasmas like the Kuro KRP-500A and the PDP-LX5090. The picture quality is incredibly rich and the deep, almost inky-blacks put LCD backlighting to shame.

Despite its premium-price business model and class-leading PDP technology, Pioneer posted a catastrophic loss of $1.44 billion last year. Consequently, its TV business is no longer viable and it will abandon it by March 2010 to concentrate on car electronics, navigation and audio A/V products.

A Beginner's Guide to HDTV

High definition television, in the future, will just be called 'television'. There will be no 'standard versus high definition' debate, because what is called HD now, will be completely standard in several years time. During this transition time is a great opportunity to learn about the technology though - if you're due for an upgrade buying an HDTV is the only sensible choice. Our introductory HDTV buying guide and HDTV reviews on different brands and features should help you make the best choice for years to come.

What is HDTV?
HDTV stands for high definition television, and simply means that the resolution (pixels per inch), is higher than in standard definition sets and programming. Getting that better quality depends on both having an HD-ready set, and receiving a program broadcast in HD. In the near future, this will be all programs.

HDTV pricing
As we all know, new technologies come onto the market at fairly inflated prices, but as supply grows and manufacturing processes become more automated, prices fall. If you have been watching HDTV prices coming down and wondering whether it is time for you to buy yet, sooner may be better. If you're reading this before Christmas, you'll be able to get some great Christmas deals on LCD televisions that are HD ready. The pricing curve seems to have stabilised to a level that you could wait months for only small decreases in price. HDTV buying guides will show you that there are plenty of ways to save money on a new set that don't require waiting, anyway! Buy online, look for coupons, go for slightly smaller models, etc.

Sizing differences with HDTV
With a HDTV, you can sit as close as 1.5 times the diagonal width of the screen without noticeable loss of picture quality. With a standard definition television, you can start picking out individual pixels at around twice the diagonal width of the screen. This means that you can enjoy a more 'immersive' experience, where more of your peripheral vision is filtered out, than with standard def. TV. HDTV buying guides are not necessarily trying to have you waste money on a TV that is too big for you - just recommend the optimal size!

HDTV Reviews - Which type to choose?
You'll notice that there are several different types of HDTVs available, the most common being plasma, LED and LCD televisions. Here are some comparison points to consider when you are buying a HDTV:

* LCD televisions take up most of the lower price brackets
* LED technology is more future ready
* LED televisions and plasma screens often come with better picture quality and features
* Plasma and LED TVs have better contrast ratio - crispness of picture, especially in low-lit scenes
* If your living room is set up with many chairs at any oblique angle to the television screen, LED will be a better choice than LCD.
* LCDs generally have lower power consumption than plasmas... but LED televisions have the lowest of all types, generally
* LCD televisions offer the highest number of viewing hours for heavy TV watchers

Samsung LED HDTV

If you've not been watching the television market regularly, you'll probably be in for a surprise when it comes time to purchase a television. A Samsung LED HDTV will eventually be the choice that you arrive at, if you do your homework.

Obviously you've seen HDTV, DLP, LED, LCD, Plasma, Projection, and many other acronyms and descriptions that you may or may not understand. The manufacturers don't just put these tags on their equipment to confuse you, there's just a lot happening in the world of HDTV.

I mentioned buying a Samsung LED HDTV for a reason, actually for several reasons. We all obviously want the best image reproduction possible when purchasing a television. When you buy an HDTV you are getting the best possible resolution if you purchase a 1080p device, but that doesn't mean the actually image being displayed is gong to be the best, only that the amount of data (pixels) used to generate the image is the best you can buy. Even a 1080i image uses the same data, but it refreshes differently.

When/If you buy a Samsung LED HDTV, you're also ensuring that you've also bought a screen that is capable of producing the best image possible with all of that data.

Most people have heard of plasma displays, and they do offer a good picture, but they also have a relatively short life expectancy, and can't produce an image comparable to a new Samsung LED HDTV.

So, what is all the hype about ? LEDs (light emitting diodes) have been around for a long time. However, it hasn't been until fairly recently that they have been advanced to the point they can now be used in higher power applications. Now they're used in street lights traffic control lights, flashlights, automotive lights (brake lights etc.), and now in HDTV displays, just to name but a very few applications.

The reason Samsung is mentioned exclusively in this article, is because Samsung is completely dominating the LED HDTV world presently. They were in the lead developing the technology and they have not slowed down one bit in developing one fantastic Samsung LED HDTV after another.

So, whether you're looking for a DLP device, or maybe an LCD television, I would look seriously at a Samsung LED HDTV. With the LED technology, you can have an image that is up to 40% brighter, colors that are so much more vibrant, and blacks that are truly black.

Do your research before spending such a large sum of money, although the new LED HDTVs are very affordable. Know that if you buy a DLP set that isn't LED powered, you'll be replacing the light sources after a few years. Understand that when you buy an LCD HDTV that doesn't use LED technology, that you'll be getting a display that can be slow to respond to fast moving images, displays dark grays instead of blacks (Samsung has up to a 500,000:1 contrast ratio), and may have color 'bleeding.' It may look very acceptable, until it's compared directly to a Samsung LED HDTV.

Soon the industry standard will be utilizing LED technology as the primary light source in HDTVs. There is however, no reason to wait, unlike plasma technology for instance, don't expect the drastic price cuts on any Samsung LED HDTV. That's because they are using an older technology that has been advanced. You won't be paying for all of the research and development. Of course the same can be said of any of the major manufacturer's devices also.

Sony, as you would expect, is also becoming a player in the LED TV field, but, as in most of their other products, they are generally priced substantially higher than other similar HDTVs. There are also other brands entering the market, but it is being dominated by Samsung.

Go take a look at any Samsung LED HDTV, with all of the awesome features available, such as instant online content, and widgets available to make interfacing with the Internet so easy and enjoyable, you'll surely find the ideal Samsung LED HDTV to fit your needs...and your budget.

There's a huge assortment of Samsung models available. Modest sized displays, up to huge 67 inch models. Ultra-slim models that hang nearly flush on a wall, and models that have so many features that even the biggest geeks will be in techno-heaven.

Get a Samsung LED HDTV, and know you have the best LED HDTV available, for the best price possible.

Mini Laptop Computers - The Top Five Mini Notebook Laptops

On your search to find the best mini notebook laptop you will come across several different selections. The choice you make in the end will depend on your preference. What you like in a laptop will also decide the total cost as well. Finding the right one can be difficult if you don't know exactly what you want. When you begin your search you may want to check out the five most popular mini notebook laptops that are out right now and go from there.

The first notebook laptop to consider, and one of the most popular, would be the Acer Aspire. The Acer Aspire is popular for several reasons. The Acer sports a wide 9 inch widescreen which is perfect if you plan to use this laptop a lot. It has sharp and bright color that is adjustable to help you see better. Acer is a little bit larger than the other mini notebooks but not by much. The Aspire is the best mini laptop if you want to find a smaller notebook but still keep a lot of your great features.

The second mini laptop that is growing in popularity is the Asus Eee PC 1000. This model is larger than the original Asus notebooks that are already out, but it is still considered a mini. It has the same Intel Atom processor that you can find in all the other Asus models. One good feature to the Asus is that it runs less on energy, so your battery lasts longer while you are out.

The third mini to consider is the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 inch. One good thing about the Dell Inspiron mini laptop is the fact that it can be upgraded with a 16GB drive for more storage. The battery lasts for about 31/2 hours without charging. This is not quite as long as other batteries, but it's still competitive. With Dell Inspiron you can personalize your notebook and build it from scratch only adding what you want to put into your mini.

The fourth mini to consider is the HP mini laptop. One problem that consumers seem to run into when searching for a HP mini is the price. While they do run a bit more expensive they still do not offer anything extraordinary that would settle your decision to go with an HP. If you choose an HP then it is because it has the features you are looking for. The HP mini's come with a full size keyboard.

The final notebook to consider is the Sony VAIO. The Sony mini comes with an 8.9 inch screen and features a big 80GB of hard drive. The Sony mini notebook weighs in at a little over three pounds. It also features the Windows Vista home Basic.

If you are still having a hard time deciding on which mini notebook laptop to purchase, make yourself a list of what is most important to you. Then you can use that list to rule out the ones that will not provide what you need. Once you have narrowed down your list then you can make your mind up based on the one notebook laptop that has everything you need.

A Look at the Panasonic 1080p Plasma Viera Series

The Panasonic 1080p plasma series is one of the most popular lines of plasma TVs on the market today. They come with increased contrast ratios for deep blacks and appealing shadow detail. In addition these Panasonic 1080p plasma models offer a smooth picture and vivid colors that will appeal to movie lovers, sports fans and HDTV viewers alike.

If you are in the market for a new plasma then you have probably looked at several models and may very well be confused by all of the different makes and models. I will try to break down the basic differences between models in the Panasonic 1080p plasma Viera series.

Lets take a look at the model numbers. A typical Panasonic Viera plasma model is TH-xxPZ80U. There are several things to look at in order to understand the model number.

1. TH-xxPZ80U - The xx will represent the size of the TV (for example 50PZ80U will be a 50" model). Sizes range from as small as 42 inches and go up to 65 inches in the top of the line model.

2. TH-xxPZ80U - The PZ indicates that this is a 1080p model. Panasonic does also offer a 720p model, but that would be indicated by a PX.

3. TH-xxPZ80U - This is where it starts to get even a bit more confusing. These indicate the individual attributes and feature sets of each model with a good 80U, better 85U, even better 800U, and best (at least until they come up with an even better model) 850U.

So lets dig in a little deeper and check out the attributes and features of the different models.

80U - This is the base model. Of course these will be the least expensive of the models and include all the basics that give the Panasonic 1080p plasma TVs such a great reputation. They come with a 20,000:1 contrast ratio, 2 speakers and 3 HDMI inputs.

85U - The next step up in the model lines adds additional contrast ratio taking it up to 30,000:1 and add an input for PC connection.

800U - The next step up makes several additions such as 24p support and an additional HDMI input as well as THX certification. Other considerations are the addition of 2 more speakers for a higher quality sound, although if you connect your TV through an audio video receiver then you more then likely will not even use your TVs speakers. The 800U models also come with a swivel base which may be beneficial to those who do not choose to wall mount their plasma.

850U - The 850U represents the top of the line model by adding additional shades of color gradation as well as pro setting menus and a studio reference mode.

Hopefully that gives a bit of clarity to the Panasonic 1080p plasma Viera series. There is sure to be a size and feature set that suits a wide range of budgets. So if you are looking at a new TV for the holiday season or for the digital changeover, a Panasonic plasma may be the right choice for you.

For more details and links to each of the models in this series check out the Panasonic 1080p plasma information page.

New - Canon Rebel T2i Released - Canon Rebel T2i Review

It has been less than a year since the last Canon Rebel descended upon the camera world. It would seem that Canon may be jumping the gun (pun intended) by releasing another version in its entry level category, especially since the last one, the Canon Rebel T1i, has been received so well. Sales have been really good, as have been user reviews.

So, is this release really necessary? And will the camera buying public respond positively?

While it still remains to be seen, the simple answers would seem to be, Yes, it is time for the new release, and, Yes, the public will snatch up this newest release with gusto.

Here are the facts, and the facts are indisputable ("A Few Good Men").

1. There is now no question that HD Movie mode is now part of the package that photographers will be seeking in their new DSLR purchases. And movie mode in the T2i has been improved... not just a little, but to match the movie mode in the 7D semi-professional model (a 7D will cost you twice as much).

According to the Canon press release: "The Rebel T2i DSLR captures video in both NTSC (National Television System Committee) and PAL (Phase Altering Line) standards at selectable frame rates including Full HD 1920 x 1080 at 30 (29.97), 25 or 24 (23.976) fps, and HD 1280 x 720 or Standard Definition 640 x 480 quality video, at 60 (59.94) or 50 fps."

This is quite an improvement over the older version which had video capabilities of 1080p at only 20fps which delivered unacceptable quality for most viewers.

1a. An external mic jack has been added for better sound recording in video mode. This was the major complaint from reviewers of the previous model. Canon marketers heard the complaint and heeded the cries for improvement in this area.

2. Megapixels have increased to the same level as the 7D (again... cost is twice as much) at 18.7 megapixels. This is the highest number of pixels in the entry level category, and, while megapixels are not the end-all of features for selection criteria, this is pretty impressive. The younger sibling had an already impressive 15 megapixel sensor.

3. ISO has been improved to a selection of sensitivity of 100 to 6400 (up from 3200 in the older model) with the possibility of extending to 12800. This makes taking photos in low light much more manageable. For instance at concerts or indoor images without using a flash.

4. Exposure compensation has been increased from 2 stops plus or minus to 5 stops. This is really exciting news for photo enthusiasts who do HDR work.

5. Upgraded quality LCD panel. The resolution of the panel has been increased to 1.02 million dots. This means that there is better quality screen resolution.

6. A slight increase in the burst rate from 3.4 fps to 3.7 frames per second. This is a good feature for stop action shooting.

All of these upgrades add up to a great reason for a new release. The price is a bit higher than the competition in the entry level market, but the new Canon Rebel T2i has features that none of the competitors can claim.

If you are especially looking for a camera that can take quality video (and you should), still photo quality that matches that of the pros, and a full feature package that nearly matches a much more expensive DSLR, consider the NEW Rebel T2i (550D) from Canon.

The prediction is that the [http://digital-photographic-resources.com/cameras/rebelT2i.html]Canon Rebel T2i will take the photography market by storm. Photographers love new gear, and this newest Rebel is a gem, and even though it is officially categorized as an entry level DSLR, it is a camera that photographers at every level of proficiency will want to have in their gear bag.

Low Cost Electronics - Digital Camera Reviews

It has been more than 30 years since the seed for the first digital camera was laid by sputnik spacecraft, which necessitated the need for digital camera to transmit images as and when it was taken. It has been an eventful journey to this day when we are venturing into the field of 3D digital photography. Starting from the models which are too huge to even hang on one's neck, we now have models that are so compact that they can fit into our pockets with great ease. But with this exponential growth, came the dilemma of choosing the best digital camera. That is when the level of photography expertise came into play.

Canon, Kodak, Sony, Olympus and Nikon are some of the leaders in the digital camera business. All these top brands always concentrate on just a few key features that define good digital photograph. Any new model addresses one or more of these features and enhances them.

From novice to professional photographers, megapixel count always holds a sway. But, that is one common mistake we blindly make. Beyond 7 megapixels, it does not in any way increase the clarity of the picture for higher pixels. The difference can only be felt if we are going to take large prints, which will yield different results for different resolutions.

The latest arrival on the digital scene is Leica X1 which was released on December 18th. This German model is a welcome break for the field because it marks a significant period of compact cameras with large sensors. Equipped with 12.2 MP on a CMOS APS-C sensor which offers an angle of view comparable to 35 mm lens, it is highly recommended for professional photographers interested in large prints.

The digital photography world is polarized into the ordinary and expert photographers. For an ordinary user, not used to the technical terms of photography, single-lens reflex camera is an obfuscation. The more the manual features are, the greater are the chances of flexibility offered for the photographers. Hence the DSLR and SLR camera have plenty of manual functions to adjust every feature such as aperture, ISO, exposure settings and many more. Canon digital cameras are into the noble task of blurring the line between professional and novice users.

The Canon Powershot series is preferred by all categories of photography enthusiasts. The new arrival in the Powershot family, Powershot G11 is indeed promising with its increased manual mode, high zoom range and sturdy build. Released almost around the same time, Canon Powershot A1100 IS caters to the requirements of cost-conscious photographers and beginners. However it never fails the user expectations. It has the face recognition and scene recognition features too.

Affordability may not be the first thing in the minds of true photography buffs. But, if comparable features are provided then, it is natural that the more affordable camera will be picked. This is what is tapped by the latest Pentax-k7 which is a greatly affordable DSLR camera which poses serious threat to Nikon and Canon in the DSLR scene. Compared to bulky DSLRs like Nikon D300 and Olympus E-3, the pentax-k7 is a small, compact and light DSLR in the market.

Another exciting feature is, it demonstrates that if we can watch HD prints then we can shoot HD prints as well. Yes! The sensor offers live view as well as the ability to capture HD video.

The latest digital camera with lots of enhancements does not mean the best of features. It is a need-driven market where the best camera for our need should be opted for. If natural scenery brings an enthusing feeling, then a digital camera with minimum 6x zoom is preferred. So, a Canon Powershot is more desirable than a Canon IXUS, in spite of the latter being the most compact of the two because Powershot serves our purpose better in this case. Ask yourself a set of questions on what is actually the requirement and then shortlist the cameras based on the requirements and budget constraints. Make sure to get the latest and the best. Click away with joy!

3 Top Digital Camera Brands Unveil New Models

It's a brand new year and as 2010 starts, people are presented with new and ever advancing technology. Take for instance the digital camera.

In the past year, several new models of digital cameras were introduced to the market. But since technological advancement never ceases and continues to move forward at a fast pace, more feature-packed units are being created.

Three top brands - Olympus, Sony and Panasonic -- have just unveiled their latest creations. Of the three, Olympus released the most number of new models at six followed by Sony at five and Panasonic at two.

Olympus announced the release of its six new digital cameras just before the start of the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show. The new models are for the brand's Stylus, Stylus-Tough and FE series. Specifically, they are the Stylus-Tough 3000, 5010, 7030, 7040, FE-47 and FE-4020. All come in different colors and thickness.

The Stylus-Tough 3000 is only the first of the series to be released this year. Available in vibrant colors, it promises to be a tough gadget which is capable of surviving shocks, water, very low temperature and shakes. This versatile camera has a resolution of 12 megapixels and is the pioneer in HD movie capture. It has magic filters and is capable of providing a perfect shot preview.

The Olympus FE models are thinner ranging from only 0.9 inch to 1.1 inches thick. The two units have a higher resolution of 14 megapixels and are more affordable at only more than $120 to $150. They share the same LCD size with the other series at 2.7 inches.

Sony for its part revealed the creation of five new Cyber-shot compact digital cameras. One of them is the first CCD-based utilizing the sweep panorama technology. The five latest models are the DSC-W370, DSC-W350, DSC-W330, DSC-W310 and the DSC-S2100.

The Sony W370 and W350 models share the same 14 megapixel imaging but differ in LCD size by a margin of only 0.3 inch. They feature the Optical SteadyShot which helps in stabilizing images and prevent blurring especially when the camera is shaken. Both have USB 2.0 high speed connectivity for fast transfer of images from the digital camera to the computer. These two are the high end models each commanding a price of more than $200.

The Sony W330 boasts of a 14 megapixel CCD imager and a 3.0-inch LCD. Both the W310 and the S2100 models have the same 12 megapixel CCD imager but not in terms of LCD size.

Finally, Panasonic has just launched its three new Lumix FH-series models. These are the DMC-FH20, DMC-FH3 and the DMC-FH1. All except for the FH1 unit feature 14 megapixels of image dimensions and come in great colors that can match your lifestyle. While these digital cameras are rather slim and small they can fit your pocket, they are still packed with features to allow users to capture quality images.

In addition to the FH-series, two new Lumix FP-series have been unveiled as well. They are the DMC-FP3 and DMC-FP1. These slim digicams boast of a unique folded lens design.

Asus Laptop Reviews - The Asus Eee Netbook Series

It is official. ASUS is currently the market leader when it comes to netbooks/mini laptops. Since the launch of the ASUS Eee PC series, it has been a permanent fixture in the bestseller's list. Thanks to good timing and foresight, it was one of the first netbook series to hit the market, taking the PC world by storm. Lets take a closer look at 3 of the hottest models in this range.

ASUS Eee PC 1000HE: This model is currently arguably the best netbook in the market. It has some of the most powerful specs and the best features. It is powered by an Intel Atom N20 Processor (1.66GHz), 1GB of RAM and has 160GB in storage. One of the main highlights of this model is its long battery life. The manufacturers claim that it can last up to 9.5 hours on a single charge. While testing it, I could easily reach 8 hours of use on one charge. It also has Bluetooth connectivity.

ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell: One of the biggest complaints about ASUS netbooks is that it seems that the manufacturers pay very little or no attention to the aesthetics of the device. Till the launch of the 1008HA, the whole netbook range sports a simple, no-frills (and almost dull) design. The 1008HA is the answer to all style-conscious consumers out there. To put it simply, this model is just gorgeous! When closed, the thickest point is in the middle, as it tapers of on its sides. It is very curvy and has a glossy external casing. It has similar specs as the 1000HE except that it has a shorter battery life (6 hours), no Bluetooth, and a non-removable battery. It also a little more expensive than usual, but I think the sleek and sexy design makes it worth every penny.

Asus Eee PC 1000HA: This model is a lower-end version of the 1000HE. It is powered by Intel's N270 Atom processor (1.6GHZ), and has a 160GB hard drive. It has an 802.11b/g connection (instead of a 802.11b/g/n) and does not come with Bluetooth. It also has a shorter 7-hour battery lifespan. This model still proves to be a good buy for those who wish to get a simple no-frills netbook.

Seasonal laptop clearence sales
From time to time you find these online shopping stores offer clearence stock or you also get seasonal discounts on laptop purchases, such as Summer, Winter and Christmas shopping sales.
